Draw & Bass Duet
Draw and Bass Duet is a collaborative multimedia performance piece by interdisciplinary artist Trevor Tubelle and musician Richard Worn. Using a combination of double bass sounds, movements, and vocalizations by Worn and gestural drawing marks, pencil tapping sounds, and body movements by Tubelle, the artists reverberate within various thematic structures (“Quotidian Rhythms,” “Tension & Ease,” etc.) while weaving improvisational riffs and unexpected antiphonal fusions. They perform in close physical proximity with one another on a resonant, drum-like invented musical instrument (a platform called a Dais-Drum) before a live audience on September 9, 2019, at Platform Artspace, Department of Art, UC Berkeley, CA.
